Much of the data collected by banks, consultants and The Legal indicates demand and revenue are up year over year for law firms, and managing partners are more optimistic about 2015. But national trends and recent financial performance suggest that even if that optimism translates into positive results, it won’t be evenly distributed among Pennsylvania firms.

A variety of surveys–though not all–generally have painted a better picture of the legal industry in 2014 than in 2013. Most of those surveys, however, have differed on several points, such as degree of optimism and areas of worry and caution, illustrating the difficulty in pinpointing exactly what’s going on in an industry composed of such varied private firms.
