With reports that a grand jury has recommended that criminal charges be filed against state Attorney General Kathleen Kane for allegedly leaking secret grand-jury information, all eyes are now on Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman.

According to an article The Philadelphia Inquirer published Jan. 8, a statewide grand jury convened in Montgomery County handed up a presentment recommending that Ferman’s office charge Kane with perjury and contempt of court. While there has been no confirmation yet from any of the parties involved, if the report is accurate that puts the ball exclusively in Ferman’s court in terms of whether to file criminal charges against the state’s top law enforcement officer.
