Notable lateral moves abounded in 2014, and, as usual, there were too many for each one to fit on the shortlist.

Expanding on a trend from last year, this year’s group of runners-up included more than just the traditional lateral move from one law firm to another. This batch of moves included officials in state and federal government leaving the public ranks to join private law firms, one attorney leaving a firm to start a new shop, and several in-house attorneys joining law firms as well.
