The first trial in the multidistrict litigation over Zoloft has been set for Nov. 9, which would trail the first state-court cases by about six months.

The MDL, which includes roughly 600 suits filed against Pfizer alleging that its antidepressant caused birth defects in babies born to mothers who took it while pregnant, was stayed for about the same amount of time, six months, while the court considered whether to let the plaintiffs offer a new expert after their first one was tossed.
