A county employee fired for emailing his wife while at work will not be able to recover unemployment benefits, the Commonwealth Court has ruled.
A unanimous three-judge panel ruled March 4 that an employee with the Montgomery County Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities had been fired for willful misconduct because he had been previously warned about using company equipment for personal affairs. The ruling upheld a decision from the Unemployment Compensation Board of Review.
