Despite the wide field of candidates running for the state Supreme Court, some common themes have emerged, including wanting the court to hear more cases and issue more opinions, a campaign promise observers said could be hard to deliver.
In their first opportunity to speak together before an audience, 10 of the 12 candidates for the Supreme Court briefly addressed their ideas for improving the court system. They mentioned transparency, integrity, collegiality and a necessity for more decisions from the justices.
