The state Supreme Court has rejected efforts by the Pennsylvania Insurance commissioner to convert the rehabilitation of two insurance companies into liquidations.

The justices issued a per curiam order July 20 in In re Penn Treaty Network American Insurance Co. in Rehabilitation affirming a decision from the Commonwealth Court, which had called for rehabilitation of the companies, despite evidence from the state Insurance commissioner that rehabilitation would be futile.
