The state attorney general has filed charges against two western Pennsylvania defense attorneys over alleged violations of the Wiretap Act. The charges stem from separate incidents where the attorneys allegedly used illegally made recordings in legal proceedings.
Beaver County attorney Gerald V. Benyo Jr. and attorney Stanley T. Booker of Lawrence County were charged with two counts of unauthorized interception, disclosure or use of a wire, electronics or oral communication, Attorney General Kathleen Kane announced in separate statements to the press Monday.
