As the days of summer go by and we are just after the end of July, most recent law school graduates are absorbed in their bar prep materials, preparing for what will likely be the biggest milestone of their young legal careers: taking the bar exam. Once the exam is complete, most are ready to unwind with a week or two of well-deserved relaxation, thinking only passingly about the results.

Unfortunately, for many soon-to-be licensed attorneys, following this brief post-bar respite will be a full-time job search that will soon consume the time that had been reserved for bar study. Yes, it is still a challenging time for recent law school graduates. But the good news is that there is hope. I know a great many attorneys, myself included, who were engaged in this post-bar-exam job search that have successfully secured associate positions at law firms both small (fewer than 10 attorneys) and large (100 or more).
