SEPTA is not subject to a Philadelphia ordinance forbidding discrimination based on sexual orientation, the Commonwealth Court has ruled.
A split seven-judge panel of the court ruled Aug. 7 that the transportation authority is not subject to Philadelphia’s Fair Practices Ordinance, but only to the state anti-discrimination rules, which do not ban discrimination for sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information or domestic violence status.
