In an effort to stay on top of the constant evolution of technology and the ever-present threat of backlog, courts across the state are embracing the use of special discovery masters.

Although not every jurisdiction has set up its own special master program, several state and federal jurisdictions across Pennsylvania have set up a variety of special master programs to deal specifically with technology, or complex litigation that could easily overwhelm the court system.
