Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams’ decision not to fire three employees involved in pornographic and racist email chains while working for the state Attorney General’s Office will likely lead to some political backlash, according to political observers and consultants.
On Sept. 4, Williams announced he will not fire former attorney general prosecutors Frank Fina, E. Marc Costanzo and Patrick Blessington, all of whom now work in his office. Along with others, the three were found to have been involved in either sending or receiving pornographic, racist and occasionally homophobic emails while they worked at the Attorney General’s Office between 2009 and 2012. Many of those emails were released last month.
