First-year associate class sizes shrunk across the firmwide offices of many Pennsylvania firms, which also reported a sharp dive in the number of first-years hired within the state, according to results from The Legal’s First-Year Associates Survey.
The number of first-year associates hired across all of the responding firms’ offices dipped 6.1 percent between 2014 and 2015. And it would appear that, when firms are hiring first-years, they are doing it outside of Pennsylvania. The number of first-years hired in Pennsylvania offices decreased 22.7 percent year over year.
