I have a confession to make. I was not completely candid in one aspect of my first column. In “Reinventing Yourself After Retirement: A New Beginning,” published on The Legal’s website Sept. 15, I wrote, “retirement brings with it flexibility. I am writing this column while sitting on the deck of my shore home on a Friday morning because I can … I plan out a schedule each week that works for me. The only pressure is the pressure I allow into my life.”
That would be really wonderful if it were true, but it isn’t. I want it to be true. I really want to control my own schedule but except for sitting on my deck that one Friday morning, I can’t seem to do it.
