Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane will be represented by attorneys from her office in a suit filed by her former appeals chief who has alleged he was fired after testifying before a grand jury investigating Kane. But the attorney general may be looking to hire additional counsel in the suit, which was filed against her in her official and individual capacities.
Chief deputy attorney general Kenneth L. Joel of the Office of Attorney General’s civil litigation division entered his appearance Oct. 23 in the suit Barker v. Kane, filed earlier this month by James Barker, the former chief deputy attorney general of the appeals and legal services section of the OAG’s criminal division.
