The lawyer for a victim of sexual abuse and subject of a child pornography series who obtained criminal restitution from her abuser, who pleaded guilty, argued she is entitled to additional civil compensation under Masha’s Law.

Atlanta attorney Leighton Moore argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit on behalf of Jane Doe, formerly known as Masha Allen—the namesake of Masha’s Law. Doe had appealed a district judge’s order denying her civil recovery on the basis that it constituted double-dipping.
