The Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas is preparing to switch from a lawyer-driven civil system to one controlled more directly by the court, under a recently-adopted local rule.
Starting next year, new court-mandated timelines for nearly all civil cases will be going into effect with the hopes of getting cases tried more promptly in the county. The change, which is outlined in Montgomery County Local Rule 200 that the court issued last month, is expected to go into effect Jan. 1, 2016.
