Attention-grabbing ads wrapping embattled comedian Bill Cosby into the Montgomery County district attorney race may have garnered national notice, but, according to court watchers, the race mostly came down to the county’s shifting political demographics.

Democratic candidate Kevin Steele won the election Tuesday, getting 55 percent of the vote, while Republican candidate—and former Montgomery County district attorney—Bruce L. Castor Jr. received 44 percent of the vote.
