Wayne-based specialty pharmaceutical company Egalet Corp. has hired its first general counsel, pulling from the in-house legal department of GlaxoSmithKline.
Paul C. Varki started Monday as the senior vice president and general counsel of 74-employee Egalet, which focuses on developing and commercializing treatments for pain, with an emphasis on developing products that deter abuse of the medications.
