Embattled Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane’s protracted legal and political woes could unfold further Wednesday, when a special Senate committee is expected to issue a report on its investigation into her ability to fulfill the duties of her office with a suspended law license.
The report, due Wednesday, will make a recommendation to the full Senate on whether it should vote to remove Kane from office pursuant to Article VI, Section 7 of the Pennsylvania Constitution. An affirmative two-thirds vote by the Senate would send the matter to Gov. Tom Wolf, who has repeatedly called for Kane to step down.
