About four months after RTI International Metals was acquired by Alcoa, RTI’s general counsel has found a new position as the chief legal officer of Calgon Carbon.
Chad Whalen started as general counsel of Calgon Carbon on Tuesday. He had left RTI after its July 23 acquisition by Alcoa that created Alcoa Titanium & Engineered Products. Whalen replaces Calgon Carbon senior vice president, general counsel and secretary Richard Rose, who left the company under a separation agreement in September, according to U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filings. Both Rose and Whalen have previously worked at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney before joining Calgon in 2009 and RTI in 2007, respectively.
