The patchwork of local rules governing orphans’ court procedures in specific judicial districts will be tossed out and replaced by a single statewide set of rules, the state Supreme Court recently announced.

The high court last week approved orders rescinding local orphans’ court rules and replacing them with a new set of rules covering everything from preliminary objections to filing exceptions, which is the orphans’ court equivalent of making a motion for reconsideration.
