In the 2015 state Supreme Court race for three new justices, the top two vote-getters raised the bar for judicial-election campaign fundraising and spending in Pennsylvania.
According to state campaign-finance records, Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Administrative Judge Kevin Dougherty received a total of $5.4 million and Superior Court Judge David N. Wecht got about $3.9 million, including direct and in-kind contributions, as well as money held over from 2014. All the candidates who ran in 2015 were required to file their 30-day, post-election finance reports Dec. 2.
