The Judicial Conduct Board has filed ethics charges against state Supreme Court Justice J. Michael Eakin over his role in exchanging racist and sexist emails with state prosecutors and judges.

The board’s complaint, filed with the Court of Judicial Discipline on Tuesday afternoon, charges Eakin with violating two canons of the old Code of Judicial Conduct and two sections of the Pennsylvania Constitution.
