The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has agreed to hear arguments over whether a sentencing judge can consider evidence of a crime’s impact on a victim when the crime is not an offense against a person.
The justices on Dec. 2 granted allocatur in Commonwealth v. Ali, agreeing to review a Superior Court ruling that vacated Rafie Ali’s sentence for drug-related offenses, including his store selling the drugs that contributed to a car accident that killed two people.
