Ex-Penn State President Graham Spanier has officially sued the university and Louis J. Freeh over the Freeh report, which said that Spanier and others had been complicit in covering up reports of child sexual abuse by convicted child molester Jerry Sandusky.
Spanier filed a complaint Wednesday in Spanier v. Freeh and in the separate suit, Spanier v. Penn State. The complaints come after more than two years of litigating over whether Spanier could proceed with his claims. Both complaints were filed in the Centre County Court of Common Pleas by Spanier’s attorneys, Thomas Clare and Elizabeth M. Locke of the Alexandria, Virginia, firm Clare Locke.
