There is an article in the Feb. 8 ABA Law Journal talking about the American Bar Association’s House of Delegates and the debate over endorsing the practice of law by nonlawyers in certain areas. After debate, Resolution 105 apparently was adopted. This regulation seems to support the development of non-traditional legal service providers.

Obviously, there is great concern among the members of the bar with such a development. The suggestion shows how out of touch the ABA has become with the members of the bar, particularly small firms and solo practitioners. Big firms appear to dominate many aspects of the ABA and these kinds of resolutions confirm their presence.
