The state Supreme Court has declined to take up the appeal of a mother seeking to hold a casino civilly liable for a valet who did not withhold car keys from her visibly intoxicated son, who later died in a car crash.

The high court denied allocatur Feb. 25 in Moranko v. Downs Racing. The decision lets stand an en banc Superior Court ruling that held valets do not have a duty to withhold keys from visibly intoxicated patrons.
