The Court of Judicial Discipline has denied Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice J. Michael Eakin’s motion seeking an en banc hearing at which he and the Judicial Conduct Board could present a proposed mediated resolution in his ethics case.

The court also denied the board’s motion to change the case’s venue to Harrisburg, setting the stage for trial to begin March 29 in Philadelphia. Eakin has been charged with four ethics violations over the exchange of offensive emails on a private account and is temporarily suspended with pay pending resolution of the case.
