While Philadelphia Media Network’s suit against Morgan, Lewis & Bockius is in the midst of a six-month hiatus, the parties have been at odds over some discovery issues that all have a connection to Dilworth Paxson.
Late last month, the parties reached an agreement just days before a discovery hearing as to whether Philadelphia Media Network owner H.F. “Gerry” Lenfest’s gift of 99.9 percent of the papers to a newly created journalism institute also transferred some of the decision-making ability regarding the continuation of the lawsuit. It was a Dilworth Paxson partner and architect of the sale who filed an affidavit on behalf of the newspaper, arguing that Philadelphia Media Network still maintains control of the papers’ operations and the lawsuit.
