A Pittsburgh woman who has alleged Bill Cosby sexually assaulted her and then defamed her has argued in a federal appeal that Cosby’s statements about her were not protected opinions.

Renita Hill filed her brief April 22 in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. In January, U.S. District Judge Arthur Schwab of the Western District of Pennsylvania granted Cosby’s motion to dismiss Hill’s case, saying Cosby’s statements were far from defamatory, and some were “pure opinion.”
