The federal judge presiding over a case in which former Allstate Insurance Co. agents claimed they were forced to sign unfair releases upon termination has denied the company’s request for a new trial.

U.S. District Judge Mark Kearney of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania denied Allstate’s motion for a new trial and request to overturn the jury’s verdict in which it found that eight of 10 Allstate agent plaintiffs—the first-filed of over 400—did not knowingly and voluntarily sign the release of claims Allstate gave them when their contracts were terminated.
