More than two months after entering a not guilty plea to charges of lying to federal authorities, suspended Philadelphia Municipal Court Judge Joseph O’Neill has pleaded guilty to the charges.

O’Neill pleaded guilty Thursday morning before U.S. District Judge Juan R. Sanchez of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania to two counts of making false statements to federal authorities. The charges stem from false statements O’Neill made to the FBI on two dates in September 2012 after he was questioned by investigators about his handling of a case involving Democratic fundraiser Samuel Kuttab.
