A fire that began on the 18th floor of Fox Rothschild’s Philadelphia office early Tuesday morning forced the building, which is home to many law firms, to close.

Mark Silow, Fox Rothschild’s managing partner, said there was a fire in the 2000 Market Street building in Center City Philadelphia at about 2 a.m. Tuesday morning. It began in an electrical closet on the 18th floor, one of the floors occupied by Fox Rothschild. Silow said there was minor structural damage, but the sprinkler system did cause water damage to the floor as well as several floors beneath that. Fox Rothschild has additional space on the 12th floor and there was water damage there as well, he said. There were no injuries.
