The Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General has run up a $436,065 tab fighting a series of lawsuits alleging various forms of retaliation on the part of Attorney General Kathleen Kane, chief of staff Jonathan Duecker and other members of the office.

The total includes charges from Littler Mendelson and LeClairRyan, two of three outside firms representing the office and its employees, and the bill accounts for just four of the seven lawsuits the OAG is facing. One case is being handled internally, and invoices for two others were not yet available through a public-records request, either because the firms’ contracts had not yet been finalized or because the invoices had not yet been cleared and were still subject to modification, according to the OAG. All records were through May 20, the date they were requested, although they were not made available until this week.
