A woman alleging that her doctors failed to properly diagnose her stage IV breast cancer has been given a new trial by the Superior Court.

In a 2-1 memorandum opinion, the court ruled July 22 in Heddleston v. Obstetrical and Gynecological Associates of Pittsburgh that the trial court should have allowed a plaintiffs expert oncologist to offer vital causation testimony and should not have allowed the defendants to use unauthenticated hearsay evidence to bolster their position.
