State Attorney General Kathleen Kane has taken one last shot at a dismissal of the criminal charges against her, seeking relief from the Pennsylvania Supreme Court just one week before her trial is set to begin.
Kane filed an application for extraordinary relief and King’s Bench Power on Monday. She asked the court to suppress the evidence and testimony gathered by the 35th Statewide Investigating Grand Jury, which recommended charges against her last year, and to quash the criminal charges filed by the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.
