Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane said Aug. 12 she did not find it necessary to testify on her own behalf in her criminal trial, as the ­defense rested without calling any ­witnesses in a move that defense attorneys said aligns with the argument that the government failed to meet its burden.

Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas Judge Wendy Demchick-Alloy ­dismissed the jury shortly before noon Aug. 12, and said the trial would resume Monday morning with closing arguments and the jury charge. She was set to meet with counsel for both sides the afternoon of Aug. 12 to discuss the proposed jury charge and verdict slip.
