The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) is auctioning off 40 expired restaurant liquor licenses as required under changes to the state’s liquor system (Act 39) signed by Gov. Tom Wolf in July.
Speaker of the House, Mike Turzai, R-Allegheny, said that in drafting the new law, they envisioned the sale of well over 1,000 licenses to grocery stores across Pennsylvania.
