A prominent Pennsylvania attorney has secured more than $1.5 million against news outlets that published stories falsely accusing him of steering “secret legal fees” from the Pennsylvania Convention Center to his law firm.

Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge Angelo J. Foglietta awarded Exton attorney Thomas A. “Buck” Riley Jr. of Riley Riper Hollin & Colagreco $1.5 million against Main Line Media News and its publisher, Journal Register East, and ordered that the defendants must remove the article at issue in the lawsuit within 10 days of the order, or face a sanction of $2,500 per day.
