A Philadelphia-area attorney hit with a $2 million verdict for bringing a frivolous lawsuit recently pointed to his health as part of the reason why the verdict against him should be overturned; however, the former Cozen O’Connor attorney who was the subject of the frivolous lawsuit is challenging that argument.

Late last month, Colorado attorney John Brown, who worked at Cozen O’Connor between 1980 and 2008, was awarded $2.3 million over claims that Drexel Hill attorney Mark Halpern and his former client, Lynne Boghossian, lodged a frivolous lawsuit against him in an effort to pressure him to amend his mother-in-law’s trust. The award included $1.75 million in punitive damages against Halpern and his firm Halpern & Levy.
