Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge Angeles Roca violated the Code of Judicial Conduct and the Pennsylvania Constitution by asking a fellow judge to help her obtain a favorable result in her son’s tax dispute with the city, the Court of Judicial Discipline has ruled.

The CJD, in an Oct. 20 opinion written by President Judge Jack A. Panella, said Roca’s actions brought her office into disrepute, prejudiced the proper administration of justice and failed to promote confidence in the integrity and impartiality of the judiciary. A sanctions hearing is set for Nov. 21 in Harrisburg.
