A little over a week after Donald Trump won the presidency, names for his potential U.S. attorney appointee for the Philadelphia office have already begun circulating in the legal community.
While the sitting U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Zane Memeger, has not announced his intention to step down—his office would not confirm his plans—it is assumed that he will, given the fact that new presidents rarely allow appointees from the previous administration to remain. The nationwide post-election U.S. Department of Justice shake up kicked off earlier this week with the announcement that Pittsburgh-based U.S. Attorney David Hickton will step down Nov. 28.
