SUZANNE YOUNG

Young, of Community Legal Services, has been a supervising attorney in two different areas of practice, employment law and dependency law. She helped spearhead the effort to eliminate unsubstantiated criminal debt in Philadelphia, a four-year advocacy campaign by CLS and many allies to stop the Philadelphia courts from harassing the city’s poorest residents. She also led the charge to ­ensure that 1,300 direct-care workers who suddenly lost their jobs got their final pay.
