BuckleySandler’s investigation of emails captured on Pennsylvania government servers was a “poor use” of taxpayer money, utilizing a flawed methodology that could have implicated individuals for sending “innocuous” emails, state Attorney General Bruce Beemer said.
Beemer announced the results of the investigation Tuesday, saying the review unearthed no evidence of ex parte communication affecting the justice system. Any truly inappropriate or offensive email exchanges were already reviewed and in many cases released to the public before BuckleySandler’s investigation, he said. And, Beemer noted, many of the recommendations included in the report are already in the works.
