A Bucks County magisterial district judge is among three officials charged with laundering $400,000 stemming from an FBI sting operation, federal prosecutors announced Dec. 16.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Philadelphia announced indictments for conspiracy and money laundering against John I. Waltman, 59, an MDJ from Trevose; Robert P. Hoopes, 69, of Doylestown, a lawyer and director of public safety for Lower Southampton Township; and Bernard T. Rafferty, 62, of Langhorne, a county deputy constable who runs a consulting firm.
