Pro Se Notice of Appeal • Hybrid Representation • Sufficiency of Evidence
Commonwealth v. Williams, PICS Case No. 16-1510 (Pa. Super. Nov. 23, 2016) Shogan, J. (10 pages).
An appellate court was required to docket a pro se notice of appeal, despite appellant being represented by counsel, because unlike pleadings or briefs requiring the legal knowledge and counsel of an attorney, a notice of appeal simply served to protect appellant’s constitutional right to appeal. Judgment of sentence affirmed.
