Edward G. Fitzgerald, longtime principal of Spector Gadon & Rosen, died on Dec. 4, 2016, after a brief illness. He was 71.

Born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island, Fitzgerald came to Philadelphia in 1966 to attend law school at Villanova University and never looked back. He clerked in the U.S. district court, joined Blank Rome as an associate and partner, spent a few years as general counsel at Hansen Group, and in 1991 joined Spector Gadon, where he was a shareholder and director until semi-retirement in 2014, according to a release.
