Prosecutors are not opposing Bill Cosby’s request for a jury from outside Montgomery County, but they are opposing a change of venue in the case, and the way in which Cosby wants the venire chosen.

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office filed a response to Cosby’s motion for change of venue or venire Thursday afternoon. The prosecutors said it would not oppose the motion entirely, but that a change of venue would be unnecessary to ensure a fair trial. They also said Cosby’s proposal of determining the venire through evidentiary hearings is contrary to law.
