The Pennsylvania Superior Court has upheld a $500,000 malicious prosecution verdict awarded to a former employee of a Philadelphia nonprofit who spent over three months in jail over theft charges that were ultimately dismissed.

In a nonprecedential opinion filed Jan. 5, the court said the verdict against Philabundance, Chaundra Loesch, William Clark and Melanie Jumonville should be upheld. Morgan, Lewis & Bockius was also a defendant in the underlying case, but did not appeal the verdict.
